Monsanto Company and Solae, LLC, St. Louis, MO, have received notice from FDA confirming that the companies’ stearidonic acid (SDA) omega 3 soybean oil product is Generally Recognized as Safe (GRAS) under the intended conditions of use. The confirmation enables food companies to develop and test foods containing the new omega 3 oil.
